Article 695-9-12 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Before taking a decision, the investigating judge to whom a freezing request is referred directly shall forward it to the public prosecutor for an opinion.

The public prosecutor who receives a freezing request directly shall forward it for execution, with his opinion, to the investigating judge.

In the case provided for in Article 694-4, the public prosecutor shall refer the matter to the public prosecutor.

Avant d’y statuer, le juge d’instruction saisi directement d’une demande de gel la communique pour avis au procureur de la République.

Le procureur de la République qui reçoit directement une demande de gel la transmet pour exécution, avec son avis, au juge d’instruction.

Dans le cas prévu à l’article 694-4, le procureur de la République saisit le procureur général.
