Where the person claimed has declared to the Public Prosecutor that he consents to his extradition, the proceedings are immediately referred to the Investigating Chamber. The person claimed shall appear before it within five working days from the date of his presentation to the Attorney General.
When the person claimed appears, the Investigating Chamber shall establish his identity and take his statements. A record of this shall be drawn up.
The hearing shall be public, unless the public nature of the hearing is such as to prejudice the proper conduct of the proceedings in progress, the interests of a third party or the dignity of the person. In this case, the Investigating Chamber, at the request of the Public Prosecutor, the person claimed or of its own motion, shall give its ruling in chambers.
The Public Prosecutor and the person claimed shall be heard, the latter assisted, if necessary, by his lawyer and, if necessary, in the presence of an interpreter.
