When the decision of the Investigating Chamber grants the extradition of the person claimed and this decision is final, the Public Prosecutor shall notify the Minister of Justice, who shall inform the competent authorities of the requesting State of the decision reached.
The Minister of Justice shall take the necessary measures to ensure that the person concerned is surrendered to the authorities of the requesting State at the latest within twenty days of the date on which the extradition decision was notified to them.
If the extradited person cannot be surrendered within the twenty-day period due to force majeure, the Minister of Justice shall immediately inform the competent authorities of the requesting State and agree a new surrender date with them. The extradited person shall then be surrendered at the latest within twenty days of the date thus agreed.
Release shall be ordered if, on expiry of this twenty-day period, the extradited person is still on the territory of the Republic.
The provisions of the preceding paragraph shall not apply in the event of force majeure or if the person extradited is being prosecuted in France or has already been convicted there and must serve a sentence there for an act other than that covered by the extradition request.
