Article 706-131 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

In application of Article 371 of this Code and in accordance with Article 414-3 of the Civil Code, the court, without the assistance of the jury, then rules on the claims for damages made by the civil party.

If appropriate, it shall order one or more of the security measures provided for in Chapter III of this Title.

En application de l’article 371 du présent code et conformément à l’article 414-3 du code civil, la cour, sans l’assistance du jury, statue alors sur les demandes de dommages et intérêts formées par la partie civile.

Elle prononce s’il y a lieu une ou plusieurs des mesures de sûreté prévues au chapitre III du présent titre.
