Article 706-63-2 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Where such an appearance is likely to seriously endanger their life or physical integrity or that of their relatives, the trial court may, of its own motion or at the request of persons using an assumed identity pursuant to the second paragraph of Article 706-63-1, order them to be held in camera or to appear under conditions that preserve the anonymity of their physical appearance, including by benefiting from a technical device referred to in Article 706-61. The trial court shall rule on this application in camera.

Lorsque cette comparution est susceptible de mettre gravement en danger leur vie ou leur intégrité physique ou celle de leurs proches, la juridiction de jugement peut, d’office ou à la demande des personnes faisant usage d’une identité d’emprunt en application du deuxième alinéa de l’article 706-63-1, ordonner le huis clos ou leur comparution dans des conditions de nature à préserver l’anonymat de leur apparence physique, y compris en bénéficiant d’un dispositif technique mentionné à l’article 706-61. La juridiction de jugement statue à huis clos sur cette demande.
