Article 706-8 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

When the court ruling on civil interests has awarded damages in an amount greater than the compensation awarded by the commission, the victim may request additional compensation. He or she must submit this claim within one year of the date on which the decision ruling on civil interests became final.

Lorsque la juridiction statuant sur les intérêts civils a alloué des dommages-intérêts d’un montant supérieur à l’indemnité accordée par la commission, la victime peut demander un complément d’indemnité. Elle doit présenter sa demande dans le délai d’un an après que la décision statuant sur les intérêts civils est devenue définitive.
