Article 83 of the French Code of civil procedure

Where the judge has ruled on jurisdiction without ruling on the merits of the dispute, his decision may be appealed under the conditions laid down in this paragraph.

The decision may likewise be challenged on the ground of jurisdiction only by way of appeal where the judge rules on jurisdiction and orders an investigative measure or a provisional measure.

Lorsque le juge s’est prononcé sur la compétence sans statuer sur le fond du litige, sa décision peut faire l’objet d’un appel dans les conditions prévues par le présent paragraphe.

La décision ne peut pareillement être attaquée du chef de la compétence que par voie d’appel lorsque le juge se prononce sur la compétence et ordonne une mesure d’instruction ou une mesure provisoire.
