Article 833 of the French Civil Code

The provisions of articles 831 to 832-4 benefit the spouse or any heir called to succeed by virtue of the law, whether he is a full or bare owner.

These provisions, with the exception of those of article 832, also benefit an heir with a universal or universal title to the succession by virtue of a will or contractual institution.

Les dispositions des articles 831 à 832-4 profitent au conjoint ou à tout héritier appelé à succéder en vertu de la loi, qu’il soit copropriétaire en pleine propriété ou en nue-propriété.

Ces dispositions, à l’exception de celles de l’article 832, profitent aussi à l’héritier ayant une vocation universelle ou à titre universel à la succession en vertu d’un testament ou d’une institution contractuelle.
