Article 866 of the French Code of civil procedure

The measures taken by the judge hearing the case shall be the subject of a simple mention in the file: notice thereof shall be given to the parties.

However, in the cases provided for in the previous article, the judge in charge of investigating the case shall rule by reasoned order, subject to the rules specific to investigative measures.

Les mesures prises par le juge chargé d’instruire l’affaire sont l’objet d’une simple mention au dossier : avis en est donné aux parties.

Toutefois, dans les cas prévus à l’article précédent, le juge chargé d’instruire l’affaire statue par ordonnance motivée, sous réserve des règles particulières aux mesures d’instruction.
