Article 913-11 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Payment of compensation fund aid is made after submission of the final additional cost. In exceptional circumstances, an initial payment may be made on a provisional basis at the substantiated request of the delegated production company justifying particular difficulties.
For works covered by b of 2° of article 913-4, the beneficiary company shall pay the co-producer established in the State concerned by the agreement which has set up an aid fund similar to the compensation fund part of the aid paid, in proportion to the amount of the additional cost borne by the co-producer, after deduction of the excess corresponding to this cost.

Article 913-11

Le versement de l’aide du fonds d’indemnisation est effectué après remise du coût supplémentaire définitif. A titre exceptionnel, un premier versement est effectué à titre provisionnel sur la base d’un coût provisoire sur demande motivée de l’entreprise de production déléguée justifiant de difficultés particulières.
Pour les œuvres relevant du b du 2° de l’article 913-4, l’entreprise bénéficiaire reverse au coproducteur établi dans l’Etat concerné par l’accord qui a mis en place un fonds d’aides similaire au fonds d’indemnisation une partie de l’aide versée, au prorata du montant du coût supplémentaire supporté par lui, déduction faite de la franchise correspondant à ce coût.
