Article 939 of the French Civil Code

Where there is a donation of property subject to mortgages, publication of the deeds containing the donation and acceptance, as well as notification of the acceptance which would have taken place by separate deed, must be made to the service responsible for land registration in the location of the property.

Lorsqu’il y aura donation de biens susceptibles d’hypothèques, la publication des actes contenant la donation et l’acceptation, ainsi que la notification de l’acceptation qui aurait eu lieu par acte séparé, devra être faite au service chargé de la publicité foncière de la situation des biens.
