Article 950 of the French Code of civil procedure

An appeal against a non-contentious decision shall be lodged, by a declaration made or sent by registered post to the registry of the court which handed down the decision, by a lawyer or a public or ministerial officer in cases where the latter is authorised to do so by the provisions in force.

L’appel contre une décision gracieuse est formé, par une déclaration faite ou adressée par pli recommandé au greffe de la juridiction qui a rendu la décision, par un avocat ou un officier public ou ministériel dans les cas où ce dernier y est habilité par les dispositions en vigueur.
