Article 977 of the French Civil Code

If the testator does not know how to sign or if he was unable to do so when he had his dispositions written, the procedure shall be as stated in the preceding article; in addition, it shall be mentioned in the act of suscription that the testator declared that he did not know how to sign or that he was unable to do so when he had his dispositions written.

Article 977

Si le testateur ne sait signer ou s’il n’a pu le faire lorsqu’il a fait écrire ses dispositions, il sera procédé comme il est dit à l’article précédent ; il sera fait, en outre, mention à l’acte de suscription que le testateur a déclaré ne savoir signer ou n’avoir pu le faire lorsqu’il a fait écrire ses dispositions.
