Article 979 of the French Code of civil procedure

On pain of inadmissibility of the appeal pronounced ex officio, the following must be submitted to the registry within the time limit for filing the statement of case:

-a copy of the contested decision;

-a copy of the decision confirmed or reversed by the contested decision.

In the event of incomplete or materially incorrect transmission of any of these documents, a notice setting a time limit for rectification shall be sent by the rapporteur(s) to the applicant’s lawyer under the conditions provided for in article 981.

A peine d’irrecevabilité du pourvoi prononcée d’office, doivent être remises au greffe dans le délai de dépôt du mémoire :

-une copie de la décision attaquée ;

-une copie de la décision confirmée ou infirmée par la décision attaquée.

En cas de transmission incomplète ou entachée d’erreur matérielle de l’un de ces documents, un avis fixant un délai pour y remédier est adressé par le ou les rapporteurs à l’avocat du demandeur dans les conditions prévues à l’article 981.
