Article 988 of the French Code of civil procedure

The registrar of the court which handed down the contested decision shall without delay transmit to the registry of the Cour de cassation the case file to which shall be attached:

– a copy of the contested decision and of its notification documents;

– a copy of the decision upheld or set aside by the contested decision;

– the submissions at first instance and on appeal if any have been made.

He shall immediately forward to the clerk’s office of the Cour de cassation any documents that he may subsequently receive.

Article 988

Le greffier de la juridiction qui a rendu la décision attaquée transmet sans délai au greffe de la Cour de cassation le dossier de l’affaire auquel sont jointes :

– une copie de la décision attaquée et de ses actes de notification ;

– une copie de la décision confirmée ou infirmée par la décision attaquée ;

– les conclusions de première instance et d’appel s’il en a été pris.

Il transmet immédiatement au greffe de la Cour de cassation toute pièce qui lui parviendrait ultérieurement.
