Legal entities: legal persons, bodies, trusts or comparable institutions which, directly or through an interposed entity, own one or more properties located in France or are holders of real rights relating to these properties are liable for an annual tax equal to 3% of the market value of these properties or rights.
For the purposes of the application of this article, any legal entity that holds an interest, in whatever form and in whatever proportion, in a legal person, body, trust or comparable institution is deemed to own property or rights to property in France through an interposed entity, other than a legal entity referred to in 1°, a and b of 2° and a, b and c of 3° of article 990 E, which owns these assets or rights or holds an interest in a third legal person, body, trust or comparable institution which itself owns the assets or rights or is interposed in the chain of holdings. This provision applies regardless of the number of such interposed legal entities.
