Article 994 of the French Code of civil procedure

In addition to the original, there shall be produced by the plaintiff as many copies of his pleading as there are defendants and by the defendant as many copies of the reply pleading as there are plaintiffs.

These copies shall be certified as true by the signatory of the pleading.

En plus de l’original, il est produit par le demandeur autant de copies de son mémoire qu’il y a de défendeurs et par le défendeur autant de copies du mémoire en réponse qu’il y a de demandeurs.
