Article A53-3 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The procedure for registering and recording identification and authorisation data for electronic signature processes made available to persons participating in the procedure within the meaning of Article 11, is, in the case of magistrates, military personnel and public officials, at the initiative and under the responsibility of the ministry to which they report or under whose supervision they are placed. In other cases, this procedure is placed under the control of the Ministry of Justice, and may, where applicable, be the subject of a protocol with the legal entity or professional body to which the person concerned belongs or under whose control he or she is placed.

La procédure d’inscription et d’enregistrement des données d’identification et d’habilitation des procédés de signature électronique mis à disposition des personnes concourant à la procédure au sens de l’article 11, est, s’agissant des magistrats, militaires et agents publics, à l’initiative et sous la responsabilité du ministère dont ils relèvent ou sous le contrôle duquel ils sont placés. Dans les autres cas, cette procédure est placée sous le contrôle du ministère de la justice, et peut, le cas échéant, faire l’objet d’un protocole avec la personne morale ou l’organisme professionnel dont relève ou sous le contrôle duquel est placée la personne concernée.
