SANITARY FACILITIES IN SWIMMING POOLS REFERRED TO IN ARTICLE D. 1332-7
A. – Sanitary facilities reserved for bathers and the like
1. Showers
In indoor swimming pools, the number of showers is at least :
One shower for every 20 bathers for a maximum instantaneous attendance of 200 people or less ;
6 + F/50 above;
– F being the maximum instantaneous attendance.
In open-air swimming pools, the number of showers is at least :
One shower for every 50 bathers for a maximum instantaneous attendance of less than or equal to 1,500 people;
15 + F/100 above that;
F being the maximum instantaneous attendance.
Showers in foot baths and showers for the disabled, where a special circuit is provided, are additional.
2. Toilet cubicles
The number of toilet cubicles must be at least equal to F/80 in indoor pools and F/100 in outdoor pools for a maximum instantaneous attendance of less than or equal to 1,500 people, with a minimum of two on the men’s side and two on the women’s side.
For maximum instantaneous attendance in excess of 1,500 people, the supplement to the number defined in the previous paragraph is calculated on the basis of one cubicle for every 200 bathers.
When the number of toilets reserved for men is greater than two, half of the toilets may be replaced by urinals, the number of which must be at least equal to twice the number of toilets removed.
The floor of toilets and areas where urinals are installed must be equipped with drainage systems for washing water and other liquids, so that there is no possibility of contamination of circulation areas and beaches. There must be no direct communication between toilets and beaches.
3. Washbasins
At least one washbasin must be installed for each group of toilets.
4. Washbasins
At least one foot-washer must be provided for each group of changing rooms.
5. Swimming pools in tourist accommodation
For swimming pools in tourist accommodation such as hotels, campsites, holiday camps, holiday homes and those in housing estates, the sanitary facilities of the establishment accessible to all pool users may be taken into account when calculating the standards defined above. In any case, at least two toilets, a washbasin and two showers must be installed near the pool or pools.
B. – Toilet facilities reserved for the public
At least one washbasin, one lavatory and one urinal must be installed for every 100 people.
