Article D1221-66-1 of the French Public Health Code

The authorisation referred to in Article D. 1221-58 may be issued to the Etablissement Français du Sang for the importation of blood or its components intended for the preparation of labile blood products within the framework of an international agreement providing for cross-border cooperation. By way of derogation from the provisions of article D. 1221-60 and article D. 1221-61, these imports may be authorised if the blood samples or its components do not meet the requirements of section II of this chapter, provided that the Etablissement Français du Sang undertakes to carry out the tests and analyses provided for in section II of this chapter immediately after importation and that it provides evidence that all safety guarantees concerning the transport and handling of these products have been taken.

L’autorisation mentionnée à l’article D. 1221-58 peut être délivrée à l’Etablissement français du sang pour l’importation de sang ou de ses composants destinés à la préparation de produits sanguins labiles dans le cadre d’un accord international prévoyant des coopérations transfrontalières. Par dérogation aux dispositions de l’article D. 1221-60 et du gde l’article D. 1221-61, ces importations peuvent être autorisées si les prélèvements de sang ou de ses composants ne répondent pas aux prescriptions de la section II du présent chapitre à condition que l’Etablissement français du sang s’engage à réaliser les tests et analyses prévus à la section II du présent chapitre immédiatement après l’importation et qu’il justifie que toutes les garanties de sécurité concernant le transport et la manipulation de ces produits sont prises.
