The water samples and analyses required for health monitoring are carried out by one or more laboratories approved by the Director General of the Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail under the conditions set out in article L. 1332-6. The results are sent by the laboratory to the Director General of the Regional Health Agency, who informs the person responsible for the bathing water and the mayor as soon as possible. Samples may also be taken by agents of the Regional Health Agency.
Silence for more than six months on applications for approval of laboratories responsible for carrying out water sampling and analysis as part of health monitoring is equivalent to acceptance.
The sampling methods and the nature of the analyses used to monitor bathing water quality are laid down by order of the Minister of Health.
