The Ministry of Health acts as the General Secretariat of the National Health Conference.
The General Secretary is appointed by order of the Minister for Health.
The General Secretary is responsible in particular for:
-acting as an interface between the members of the National Health Conference and government departments;
-preparing the body’s draft work programme, in conjunction with the Standing Committee;
-draw up provisional rules of procedure valid until the rules of procedure are adopted;
-proposing draft rules of procedure, in conjunction with the Standing Committee;
-contribute to collaboration with other consultative bodies and organisations involved in the health field;
-prepare draft agendas for meetings in consultation with the Chairman;
-attending, in an advisory capacity, all meetings of the body and those relating to it;
-monitoring the budget allocated to the operation of the body;
-designing and preparing public procurement decisions
-representing the Conference at the request of the Chairman;
-ensuring that the work of the body is communicated, disseminated and published online;
overseeing the follow-up to opinions adopted by the body;
-proposing a list of areas of expertise that may be represented on the permanent working group provided for in art. D. 1411-43.
