In order to respond to an unmet public health need or priority or to an exceptional health situation:
1° New national centres of reference may be added to the list mentioned in Article D. 1413-49 during their term of office, following the opinion of the Committee of National Centres of Reference and on a proposal from the Director General of the National Public Health Agency. They are appointed from structures meeting the conditions set out in Article D. 1413-48, by order of the Minister for Health and for the remainder of their term of office;
2° National centres of reference may contribute to carrying out the missions mentioned in a of 3° and 4° of I of Article D. 1413-46 in support of one or more other national centres of reference, after receiving the opinion of the national centres of reference committee.
