Article D1511-62 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The contract concluded between the student and the territorial authority or authorities or their groupings which award the study and professional project allowance specifies in particular:

-the student’s undertaking to practise within one year of obtaining the veterinary diploma or qualification referred to in 1° of article L. 241-2 of the French Rural and Maritime Fishing Code as a practising veterinarian registered in one of the areas defined in article L. 241-13 of the same code, contributing to the protection of public health and ensuring the continuity and permanence of farm animal care for at least five consecutive years. If the beneficiary of the aid uses an on-call service, the agreement provided for in article R. 242-61 of the Rural and Maritime Fishing Code must explicitly mention the direct participation of this beneficiary. This contract may include an obligation to set up the professional domicile in the aforementioned area;

-the respective commitments of the contracting parties to the following conditions
-the respective commitments of the contracting parties for the duration of the studies and their penalties.

The competent regional council of the Order of Veterinary Surgeons and the State representative in the department of the future place of practice shall be informed of the contract thus concluded.

Le contrat conclu entre l’étudiant et la ou les collectivités territoriales ou leurs groupements qui attribuent l’indemnité d’étude et de projet professionnel précise notamment :

-l’engagement de l’étudiant à exercer dans l’année qui suit l’obtention de son diplôme ou titre de formation vétérinaire mentionné au 1° de l’article L. 241-2 du code rural et de la pêche maritime en tant que vétérinaire praticien inscrit au tableau de l’ordre dans l’une des zones définies à l’article L. 241-13 de ce même code en contribuant à la protection de la santé publique et en assurant la continuité et la permanence des soins aux animaux d’élevage pendant au moins cinq années consécutives. Dans le cas où le bénéficiaire de l’aide recourt à un service de garde, la convention prévue à l’article R. 242-61 du code rural et de la pêche maritime doit explicitement mentionner la participation directe de ce bénéficiaire. Ce contrat peut prévoir une obligation d’installation du domicile professionnel d’exercice dans la zone précitée ;

-les engagements respectifs des parties contractantes pendant la durée des études et leurs sanctions.

Le conseil régional de l’ordre des vétérinaires compétent et le représentant de l’Etat dans le département du futur lieu d’exercice sont informés du contrat ainsi conclu.
