Article D3131-2 of the French Labour Code

The derogations provided for in articles D. 3131-1 and D. 3131-4 to D. 3131-7 are subject to the allocation of at least equivalent periods of rest to the employees concerned.
Where it is not possible to grant such rest, equivalent compensation is provided for by collective labour agreement.

Le bénéfice des dérogations prévues aux articles D. 3131-1 et D. 3131-4 à D. 3131-7 est subordonné à l’attribution de périodes au moins équivalentes de repos aux salariés intéressés.
Lorsque l’attribution de ce repos n’est pas possible, une contrepartie équivalente est prévue par accord collectif de travail.
