Article D32-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The report drawn up pursuant to article 116 states that the person has been informed of their right to request the assistance of a lawyer as soon as they are questioned at first appearance or at any time during the investigation. It states that he or she has been informed that the costs will remain at his or her own expense, unless he or she meets the conditions for obtaining legal aid.

Le procès-verbal établi en application de l’article 116 indique que la personne a été avisée de son droit de demander l’assistance d’un avocat dès son interrogatoire de première comparution ou à tout moment au cours du déroulement de l’information. Il indique qu’elle a été informée que les frais resteront à sa charge, sauf si elle remplit les conditions d’obtention de l’aide juridictionnelle.
