Article D4132-1 of the French Public Health Code

The departmental council of the Ordre des Médecins is made up of six full members and six substitute members if the number of doctors on the most recently published register is less than or equal to five hundred. It is made up of eight, ten, twelve or fourteen full members and the same number of alternate members, depending on whether this number is greater than five hundred, two thousand, seven thousand or twenty thousand respectively.

Le conseil départemental de l’ordre des médecins est composé de six binômes titulaires et de six binômes suppléants si le nombre de médecins inscrits au dernier tableau publié est inférieur ou égal à cinq cents. Il comprend huit, dix, douze ou quatorze binômes titulaires, et autant de suppléants, suivant que ce nombre est respectivement supérieur à cinq cents, à deux mille, à sept mille ou à vingt mille.
