The accreditation provided for in Article L. 4135-1 is awarded to doctors or medical teams in the same speciality practising in a health care organisation who have, over a period of twelve months, in the case of doctors involved in accreditation for the first time, and four years, in the case of renewal of accreditation:
1° Made the declaration provided for in Article L. 1414-3-3 of events considered to involve medical risks concerning their activity in a health care organisation ;
2° Implemented, where appropriate, the individual recommendations resulting from the analysis of the risk-bearing events that they have declared;
3° Implemented the quality of care or professional practice guidelines referred to in 2° of Article L. 1414-3-3 and the general recommendations referred to in 6° of Article D. 4135-5 resulting from the analysis of recorded risk-bearing events, risk studies and scientific monitoring;
4° Meets the requirements for participation in the activities of the programme to improve the safety of practices in the speciality to which they belong, defined by the approved body mentioned in Article D. 4135-5, within the framework defined by the Haute Autorité de santé.
In accordance with the provisions of article L. 4021-1, a commitment to an accreditation process constitutes a commitment to a continuing professional development process.
The procedures for submitting the application for accreditation and the list of documents attached to the application for accreditation are defined by the Haute Autorité de santé.
