Article D414-4 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The circulation document for foreign minors lapses in the following cases:
1° When the time limits set out in 1° and 2° of article R. 431-5 have expired;
2° When a residence permit is issued to the holder;
3° When the holder acquires French nationality before coming of age.
The circulation document for foreign minors that has lapsed or whose period of validity has expired must be returned by its holder to the prefect of the department where the minor resides or, in Paris, to the prefect of police.

Le document de circulation pour étranger mineur devient caduc dans les cas suivants :
1° Lorsque les délais prévus aux 1° et 2° de l’article R. 431-5 sont expirés ;
2° Lorsqu’un titre de séjour est délivré au titulaire ;
3° Lorsque le titulaire acquiert la nationalité française avant sa majorité.
Le document de circulation pour étranger mineur caduc ou dont la durée de validité est échue doit être restitué par son titulaire au préfet de département où réside le mineur ou, à Paris, au préfet de police.
