The “brevet professionnel de préparateur en pharmacie” is awarded after deliberation by a jury set up for each examination session within an academic or interacademic framework.
The selection board is appointed by the academy rector, after consultation with the director general of the regional health agency for the appointment of representatives of pharmacists and pharmacy assistants.
It is chaired by a general inspector of education, sport and research or by a national education inspector. If the latter are unavailable, the jury is chaired by the vice-chairman, a public health pharmacist inspector from the region(s) concerned.
It is composed equally of :
-teachers from public and private teaching establishments or, where appropriate, teachers working in apprentice training centres or apprenticeship sections ;
-representatives of pharmacists or pharmacy assistants, chosen in equal numbers from lists containing at least ten names, drawn up by the trade unions and professional organisations sitting on the Commission for Pharmacy Assistants.
If this parity is not achieved due to the absence of one or more of its members, the jury may nevertheless deliberate validly.
