The nurse will seek out the most appropriate methods, depending on the age and personality of the pupil, in order to inform her of the various possibilities for emergency contraception and to point her in the direction of existing facilities for obtaining such medication: pharmacy, planning centre or family education centre.
The nurse may administer emergency contraception to the student concerned in order to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.
The nurse ensures that the pupil actually takes the medication and that the dosage is respected.
The nurse will also suggest to the under-age pupil, who may refuse, that she speak to the person with parental authority or her legal representative about the help and advice provided.
