Article D6132-9-6 of the French Public Health Code

The committee elects its chairman and vice-chairman from among the practitioners who are full members.

Where an army hospital is associated with the group, army practitioners who are members of the group medical committee may not be elected chairman of the committee.

Voting takes place by secret uninominal ballot and by absolute majority. If this majority is not achieved in the first two rounds, a third round is organised. A relative majority is sufficient for the third round. In the event of a tie between the candidates with the highest number of votes, the oldest of them is declared elected.

Article D6132-9-6
