Article D6132-9-7 of the French Public Health Code

The term of office of the Chairman of the Group Medical Commission is four years, renewable once.

The duties of chairman of the group medical committee shall end at the same time as the term of office or duties in respect of which the person concerned sits as a member of the committee, notwithstanding, where applicable, the provisions of the preceding paragraph.

The term of office may be exceptionally reduced or extended, in the interests of the service, for a period not exceeding one year, by order of the Director General of the Regional Health Agency responsible for the hospital grouping.

If the chairman of the grouping medical commission ceases to hold office, the vice-chairman replaces him until a new chairman is elected.

La durée des fonctions de président de la commission médicale de groupement est de quatre ans, renouvelable une fois.

Les fonctions de président de la commission médicale de groupement prennent fin en même temps que le mandat ou les fonctions au titre desquels l’intéressé siège comme membre de la commission, par dérogation le cas échéant aux dispositions de l’alinéa précédent.

Le mandat peut être exceptionnellement réduit ou prorogé, dans l’intérêt du service, d’une durée ne pouvant excéder un an par arrêté du directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé dont relève le groupement hospitalier de territoire.

En cas de cessation des fonctions du président de la commission médicale de groupement, le vice-président le remplace jusqu’à l’élection d’un nouveau président.
