The centres have sufficient premises, allocated exclusively to them, and the material resources to enable them to carry out their duties around the clock.
In particular, they have :
1° Telephone reception facilities comprising lines accessible to the public, lines reserved exclusively for liaison with the authorities, with other poison control centres and with the body referred to in article L. 4411-4 of the Labour Code, and lines used for routine consultations or for routine operations, which are not accessible to the public;
2° A direct telephone link, with the possibility of transferring calls, with the call reception and regulation centres mentioned in Article L. 6112-5, located in their geographical area of operation;
3° Means of recording calls and responses, with recorded documents kept for three months;
4° Means for rapid transmission of information by fax or electronic means;
5° specialised and up-to-date documentation on the treatment of intoxications;
6° IT resources to help with emergency response and to record data relating to cases of intoxication, as well as any data likely to contribute to toxicovigilance.
