Article D615-2 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The Government Commissioners, whose number may not exceed ten, are appointed by order of the Minister for the Economy, on the recommendation of the Director General of the Treasury. The Government Commissioners appointed from among the State Auditors are appointed after consultation with the Head of the General Economic and Financial Control Department.

Les commissaires du Gouvernement, dont le nombre ne peut être supérieur à dix, sont nommés par arrêté du ministre chargé de l’économie, sur proposition du directeur général du Trésor. Les commissaires du Gouvernement désignés parmi les contrôleurs d’Etat sont nommés après avis du chef du service du contrôle général économique et financier.
