The medical students mentioned in article R. 6153-46 receive, where applicable:
1° Allowances linked to on-call duty in accordance with the procedures laid down by order of the ministers responsible for the budget, higher education, health and defence;
2° A flat-rate transport allowance, when they complete a work placement outside the university hospital centre to which they are attached, if the work placement is located at a distance of more than 15 kilometres from the training and research unit in which the student is registered. When the placement is organised on a full-time basis, it must be located at a distance of more than 15 kilometres from both the training and research unit in which the student is registered and his or her home. This allowance cannot be combined with any scheme for the total or partial reimbursement of transport costs paid directly to the person concerned.
3° A flat-rate accommodation allowance when they are doing an outpatient placement in a geographical area provided for in 1° of article L. 1434-4. To qualify for this allowance, the student must provide the university hospital centre with a sworn statement in which he or she certifies that he or she is bearing the cost of paid accommodation and that he or she is not receiving any assistance from a public body or organisation;
4° A special allowance not subject to contributions to the supplementary pension scheme, equal to 40% of the remuneration provided for in article R. 6153-58, for hospital medical students on placement, within the meaning of article R. 6153-47, in Guadeloupe, Guyana, La Réunion, Martinique, Mayotte, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin or Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon;
5° Reimbursement of air travel costs, paid to medical students previously domiciled in one of the territories mentioned in 4° or in mainland France, who are assigned to a training course in one of the territories mentioned in 4°, other than their place of residence, when they settle in and when they return after their assignment, on the basis of the cost of economy class air travel. This reimbursement is paid to the student by the university hospital centre to which they are attached.
Medical students at the armed forces health service schools do not receive the allowances and reimbursements mentioned in 2°, 3°, 4° and 5°.
A joint decree by the Ministers of Health, Higher Education and the Budget sets the amount and payment terms of the lump-sum allowances provided for in 2° and 3° of this article.
