Article L110-4 of the French Commercial code

I.-Obligations arising in the course of their trade between traders or between traders and non-traders are prescribed by five years if they are not subject to special shorter prescriptions.

II.-All actions for payment shall be time-barred:

1° For food supplied to the sailors by order of the master, one year after delivery;

2° For the supply of materials and other things necessary for the construction, equipment and victualling of the ship, one year after such supplies have been made;

3° For work done, one year after acceptance of the work.

I.-Les obligations nées à l’occasion de leur commerce entre commerçants ou entre commerçants et non-commerçants se prescrivent par cinq ans si elles ne sont pas soumises à des prescriptions spéciales plus courtes.

II.-Sont prescrites toutes actions en paiement :

1° Pour nourriture fournie aux matelots par l’ordre du capitaine, un an après la livraison ;

2° Pour fourniture de matériaux et autres choses nécessaires aux constructions, équipements et avitaillements du navire, un an après ces fournitures faites ;

3° Pour ouvrages faits, un an après la réception des ouvrages.
