The collection, exchange or sharing of personal health data necessary for the management of a patient in the course of care provided while the patient is present on the territory of another Member State of the European Union may be carried out by means of a shared medical file made accessible to the professionals involved in this care, under conditions defined by decree. This decree also determines the procedures for exchanging the personal health data required for cross-border care, as well as the identification and authentication requirements for authorised professionals and patient consent. A decree issued by the Minister for Health draws up the list of States that meet the conditions laid down by this decree.
