Article L1112-20 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

Voters indicate by yes or no whether they approve the draft deliberation or act presented to them. After taking cognisance of the result of the consultation, the competent authority of the local authority shall adopt its decision on the matter that was the subject of the consultation.

Les électeurs font connaître par oui ou par non s’ils approuvent le projet de délibération ou d’acte qui leur est présenté. Après avoir pris connaissance du résultat de la consultation, l’autorité compétente de la collectivité territoriale arrête sa décision sur l’affaire qui en a fait l’objet.
