Article L1130-6 of the French Public Health Code

I – A decree in the Council of State specifies the procedures for applying this chapter.

II -An order of the Minister for Health, issued on a proposal from the Agence de la biomédecine, sets the criteria determining the medical situations justifying, in the case of a person who is unable to express his or her wishes or who has died, the performance of an examination of his or her genetic characteristics for medical purposes in the interests of the members of his or her family who may be concerned.

II.-Un arrêté du ministre chargé de la santé pris sur proposition de l’Agence de la biomédecine fixe les critères déterminant les situations médicales justifiant, chez une personne hors d’état d’exprimer sa volonté ou décédée, la réalisation d’un examen de ses caractéristiques génétiques à des fins médicales dans l’intérêt des membres de sa famille potentiellement concernés
