Article L1221-6 of the French Public Health Code

The characteristics of the blood may only be modified prior to collection for therapeutic use by a third party by a doctor within the Etablissement Français du Sang or the Armed Forces Blood Transfusion Centre.

This modification may only be carried out with the written consent of the donor, who has been warned in advance in writing of the risks involved and the possible consequences of the donation.

It may not be carried out on the persons mentioned in article L. 1221-5.

Article L1221-6

Les caractéristiques du sang ne peuvent être modifiées avant le prélèvement en vue d’une utilisation thérapeutique pour autrui que par un médecin et au sein de l’Etablissement français du sang ou du centre de transfusion sanguine des armées.

Cette modification ne peut intervenir qu’avec le consentement écrit du donneur, ce dernier ayant été préalablement averti par écrit des risques qu’il encourt et des conséquences éventuelles du prélèvement.

Elle ne peut pas être réalisée sur les personnes mentionnées à l’article L. 1221-5.
