Article L1225-21 of the French Labour Code

Where a medical condition is certified as resulting from pregnancy or childbirth, maternity leave is increased by the duration of the condition, up to a maximum of two weeks before the presumed date of childbirth and four weeks after the date of childbirth.

Lorsqu’un état pathologique est attesté par un certificat médical comme résultant de la grossesse ou de l’accouchement, le congé de maternité est augmenté de la durée de cet état pathologique dans la limite de deux semaines avant la date présumée de l’accouchement et de quatre semaines après la date de celui-ci.
