Article L1225-57 of the French Labour Code

The employee who returns to his initial activity at the end of parental education leave or a period of part-time work to raise a child is entitled to the professional interview mentioned in I of article L. 6315-1.

During this interview, the employer and the employee organise the employee’s return to work; they determine the employee’s training needs and examine the possible consequences of the leave on his remuneration and career development.

At the employee’s request, the interview may take place before the end of the parental leave.

Le salarié qui reprend son activité initiale à l’issue du congé parental d’éducation ou d’une période d’activité à temps partiel pour élever un enfant a droit à l’entretien professionnel mentionné au I de l’article L. 6315-1.

Au cours de cet entretien, l’employeur et le salarié organisent le retour à l’emploi du salarié ; ils déterminent les besoins de formation du salarié et examinent les conséquences éventuelles du congé sur sa rémunération et l’évolution de sa carrière.


A la demande du salarié, l’entretien peut avoir lieu avant la fin du congé parental d’éducation.
