Article L1237-7 of the French Labour Code

The retirement of an employee entitles him to a retirement indemnity at least equal to the redundancy indemnity provided for in article L. 1234-9.

Each employee may receive only one severance or retirement payment. The indemnity is awarded on the first full settlement of the pension.

La mise à la retraite d’un salarié lui ouvre droit à une indemnité de mise à la retraite au moins égale à l’indemnité de licenciement prévue à l’article L. 1234-9.

Chaque salarié ne peut bénéficier que d’une seule indemnité de départ ou de mise à la retraite. L’indemnité est attribuée lors de la première liquidation complète de la retraite.
