Article L1244-2 of the French Public Health Code

The donor must be of age. An emancipated minor may not be a donor.

Prior to the donation, the donor shall be duly informed of the legislative and regulatory provisions relating to gamete donation, in particular the provisions of article L. 2143-2 relating to access by persons conceived by medically assisted procreation with a third party donor to non-identifying data and to the identity of the third party donor.

The donor’s consent shall be obtained in writing and may be revoked at any time prior to the use of the gametes.

A follow-up study is offered to the donor, who consents to it in writing.

Article L1244-2

Le donneur est majeur. Le mineur émancipé ne peut être donneur.

Préalablement au don, le donneur est dûment informé des dispositions législatives et réglementaires relatives au don de gamètes, notamment des dispositions de l’article L. 2143-2 relatives à l’accès des personnes conçues par assistance médicale à la procréation avec tiers donneur aux données non identifiantes et à l’identité du tiers donneur.

Le consentement du donneur est recueilli par écrit et peut être révoqué à tout moment jusqu’à l’utilisation des gamètes.

Une étude de suivi est proposée au donneur, qui y consent par écrit.
