Article L1248-6 of the French Labour Code

Failure to draw up a fixed-term employment contract in writing and to include a precise definition of the reason for the contract, in breach of the first paragraph of article L. 1242-12, is punishable by a fine of 3,750 euros.

A repeat offence is punishable by a fine of 7,500 euros and six months’ imprisonment.

Le fait de ne pas établir par écrit le contrat de travail à durée déterminée et de ne pas y faire figurer la définition précise de son motif, en méconnaissance du premier alinéa de l’article L. 1242-12, est puni d’une amende de 3 750 euros.

La récidive est punie d’une amende de 7 500 euros et d’un emprisonnement de six mois.
