Article L142-3 of the French Code of civil enforcement procedures

On expiry of a period of eight days from the date of a summons to pay served by a bailiff and which has remained without effect, the bailiff may, on presentation of proof of the writ of execution, enter a dwelling and, if necessary, have the doors and furniture opened.

A l’expiration d’un délai de huit jours à compter d’un commandement de payer signifié par un huissier de justice et resté sans effet, celui-ci peut, sur justification du titre exécutoire, pénétrer dans un lieu servant à l’habitation et, le cas échéant, faire procéder à l’ouverture des portes et des meubles.
