Article L1424-59 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

In order to strengthen their participation in the protection of Mediterranean forests, the regions, départements, inter-communal cooperation establishments and fire and rescue services territorially concerned may decide, by concordant deliberations of their deliberative assemblies, to join a public establishment working for the protection of Mediterranean forests and their environment.

This local public establishment, with legal personality and financial autonomy, is created by order of the representative of the State in the département where the establishment has its headquarters. This order is made after consultation with the representative of the State in the other departments concerned.

Article L1424-59

Pour renforcer leur participation à la protection de la forêt méditerranéenne, les régions, les départements, les établissements de coopération intercommunale et les services d’incendie et de secours territorialement concernés peuvent décider, par délibérations concordantes de leurs assemblées délibérantes, d’adhérer à un établissement public oeuvrant pour la protection de la forêt méditerranéenne et de son environnement.

Cet établissement public local, doté de la personnalité juridique et de l’autonomie financière, est créé par arrêté du représentant de l’Etat dans le département où l’établissement a son siège. Cet arrêté est pris après avis du représentant de l’Etat dans les autres départements intéressés.
