The fire and rescue service is placed for employment under the authority of the president of the territorial council or the representative of the State, acting within the framework of their respective police powers.
To carry out the prevention missions for which they are responsible, particularly with regard to the regulations applicable to fire and panic risks in establishments open to the public, the president of the territorial council and the representative of the State have at their disposal the resources falling within the remit of the fire and rescue service.
The resources of the fire and rescue service dedicated to prevention actions are defined by the territorial council taking into account the number of establishments covered by the regulations applicable to fire and panic risks in establishments open to the public.
