In each region and in the territorial collectivity of Corsica, a regional health agency has the task of defining and implementing a coordinated set of programmes and actions contributing to the achievement, at regional and sub-regional level :
– the objectives of the national health policy defined in article L. 1411-1 of this Code ;
– the principles of social and medico-social action set out in articles L. 116-1 and L. 116-2 of the Code de l’action sociale et des familles ;
– the fundamental principles set out in I of article L. 111-2-1 of the Social Security Code.
The regional health agencies contribute to compliance with the national target for health insurance expenditure.
Their powers are exercised without prejudice to and in compliance with those of the Minister of Defence, local authorities and the establishments and agencies mentioned in articles L. 1222-1, L. 1313-1, L. 1413-1, L. 1418-1 and L. 5311-1 of this Code, as well as articles L. 312-8 of the Social Action and Family Code and L. 161-37 of the Social Security Code.
